Follow these professional guidelines to ensure perfect DTF transfers every time. Proper pressing technique and care will ensure your designs last for years.

Pressing Guidelines by Garment Type

100% Cotton

Temperature: 300°F - 310°F

Temperature: 270°F - 300°F
Time: 10-12 seconds

Step-by-Step Pressing Instructions

Preheat Your Press

Set your heat press to the appropriate temperature for your garment type. Allow 5-10 minutes for the press to reach the correct temperature.

Pre-Press the Garment

Press the garment for 2-3 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles. This ensures better adhesion and prevents steam pockets.

Position the Transfer

Place the DTF transfer face down on the garment. Ensure it's centered and smooth with no wrinkles or bubbles.

Apply Heat and Pressure

Close the press and apply firm, even pressure for the recommended time. Do not move or shift the transfer during pressing.

Peel and Finish

Standard DTF will be instant peel. Peel film immediately after pressing the garment. For Glitter and Glow In The Dark DTF, allow the garment and DTF transfer to cool fully before peeling film.

Do's

  • Use a Teflon sheet or parchment paper to protect the transfer

  • Test press on a similar garment if unsure of settings

Don'ts

  • Don't use steam during the pressing process
  • Don't press on damp or wet garments
  • Don't exceed recommended temperature for your fabric
  • Don't iron directly on the transfer design
  • Don't use fabric softener as it can affect adhesion

How long will DTF transfers last?

With proper application and care, DTF transfers can last 50+ washes while maintaining vibrant colors and excellent durability.

Can I use a household iron instead of a heat press?

While a heat press is recommended for best results, you can use a household iron on the highest setting without steam. Apply firm pressure for 30-40 seconds.

What if the transfer doesn't stick properly?

If adhesion is poor, reapply heat and pressure for an additional 5-10 seconds. Ensure your temperature and pressure settings are correct for your fabric type.

Can DTF transfers be applied to dark fabrics?

Yes! DTF transfers work excellently on both light and dark fabrics. The white ink layer ensures vibrant colors show through on any garment color.

By purchasing DTF transfers from us, the customer acknowledges and agrees to the following:

Inspection & Acceptance

  • Customers are responsible for inspecting all transfers upon pickup or delivery.
  • Any issues regarding missing items, incorrect quantities, or visible defects must be reported within 24 hours of receiving the order.
  • After 24 hours, all transfers are considered accepted as received.

Storage & Handling Responsibility

  • Once transfers leave our facility, Tee-Rific Designs is not responsible for any damage, deterioration, or quality concerns resulting from improper storage, handling, pressing techniques, environmental exposure, or misuse.
  • DTF transfers must be stored properly in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight, moisture, humidity, extreme temperatures, and excessive pressure or bending.
  • Because we cannot verify or control storage conditions after pickup or delivery, we cannot guarantee transfer performance beyond the initial inspection period.

Pressing Responsibility

Customers are responsible for using proper heat press settings, pressure, peel method, and garment compatibility. We are not liable for issues caused by:

  • Incorrect temperature, pressure, or pressing time
  • Use of household irons or non-commercial pressing equipment
  • Double pressing or overheating
  • Improper garment material or coating
  • Operator error during application

Uploaded Artwork & Print Quality

  • Customers submitting their own artwork are fully responsible for image quality, resolution, sizing, transparency setup, spelling, and color accuracy.
  • We do not recreate, redraw, or professionally edit customer-uploaded artwork unless specifically agreed upon beforehand.
  • Slight color variations may occur due to monitor settings, printer profiles, film, fabric, and curing processes.

Refunds & Replacements

  • Due to the custom nature of DTF transfers, all sales are final.
  • Refunds will not be issued for user application errors, improper storage, or misuse after the product leaves our facility.
  • At our discretion, verified manufacturing defects reported within the 24-hour window may qualify for replacement or store credit.
